
Operations Manager: Charles “Chuck” B. Curtis
Mr. Curtis was with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for thirty-two years before venturing into the private sector after his retirement. During his time with the Sheriff’s Department he worked all facets of law enforcement including patrol supervision and investigations as an investigator and supervisor. He was also a SWAT Sergeant/Instructor.
Recognized for his leadership and investigations ability he was selected to be the Executive Officer for a joint homicide task force after being promoted to Lieutenant. This was one of the most successful task forces in the country as a result of the arrest of 13 suspects and the closing of over 54 unsolved homicides.
As a Lieutenant he was the commanding officer at several patrol, detention and investigation facilities where he was responsible for the overall management and training.
After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department Mr. Curtis worked in a wide variety for assignments including investigations, surveillance workplace violence response and hostile terminations.
As the Operations Manager for Starside Security & Investigation, Mr. Curtis oversees general operations including guard services, investigations and executive protection. He brings an extensive background in personnel management to his new position. He is a leader who has the respect and trust of both management and rank and file. Both in law enforcement and the private sector he has established a reputation for leadership ability.
Mr. Curtis has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a California Community College Teaching Credential. He is a member of the Retired Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, International Association of Emergency Managers and American Society of Industrial Security.
