Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD)is looking for Armed Detention Officers for Starside ICE / DHS Contracts in Colorado and Wyoming. Our Detention Officers (DO’S) work at various USMS facilities in Colorado and Wyoming. Starside’s Detention Officers transport inmates from various facilities protecting and security both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside protects the public and the inmate from harm.

Ideal Candidate:

• Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV, (No Convictions at all, including expunged)
• Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Urinalysis
• Previous Detention Experience
• Previous Government Service a plus
• Willing to work Part Time / Flex as needed
• Handling Prisoners / Detainees experience
• Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)
• All Starside employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Clearance

Compensation is $ 25.33 and $ 4.22 per hour Health & Welfare (fringe deposited used for healthcare and remainder into a Retirement Account), Detention Officers must be approved by USMS and pass their background.  Starside offers up to 80 hours (percentage of Fulltime Worked) of vacation and 56 hours (percentage of Fulltime Worked) of sick time after 1 year.

Detention Officers, Colorado

Detention Officers Western Texas (As Needed)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for Detention Officers for Government Contracts in Western Texas.  Western Texas covers 92,000 sq miles from Waco to El Paso.  Starside covers Detainees (Inmates / Prisoners) in Hospitals in cities to include Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Midland and El Paso. Detention Officers must have a clean background and all DO’s providing transport for Detainees must have a clean driving record.

Starside’s Detention Officers prevent escape and protect the detainee and the general public while detainees are in Starside’s custody.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation
  • Texas Commissioned Security License (Level III or Level IV)
  • Texas Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
  • Previous Law Enforcement, Corrections or Detention experience, (3 years min)
  • Accredited by ACA or similar authority a plus
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Willing to work long hours and on weekends
  • Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)

Compensation is $ 22.00 per hour and $ 4.22 into a Health & Welfare account.  Detention Officers should be able to communicate effectively to all levels of officers, management and administrators at local, county and federal facilities.  As with all Detention Service Division employees Detention Officers must be approved by The USMS, HSI, ICE or FBI and pass their background

Court Security Officers (Austin, TX)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Court Services Division (CSD) is looking for Court Security Officers, (CSO’s) for multiple Courthouses in Austin Texas.  Starside is responsible for the security and protection of court staff and visitors to courthouses in Austin, TX.  Court Security Officers Applicants must have a clean background (as Verified by Austin Police Department) and all CSO must pass CJIS and Court Security training in addition to training on X-Ray Machines, CCTV and Metal Detectors.

Starside’s CSO’s must be professional and courteous at all time and have excellent uniform appearance.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation
  • Texas Non Commissioned Security License (Level II)
  • Texas Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
  • Previous Law Enforcement, Court Security experience, a strong plus
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Willing to work 8 to 10 hours per day Monday thru Friday and attend training on weekends
  • Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)

Project Manager Court Security (Austin, TX)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Court Services Division (CSD) is looking for a Project Manager for multiple Courthouses in Austin Texas.  Starside is responsible for the security and protection of court staff and visitors to courthouses in Austin, TX.  Project Manager Applicants must have a clean background (as Verified by Austin Police Department) and all Project Managers must pass CJIS and have Court Security training in addition to advanced training on X-Ray Machines, CCTV and Metal Detectors.

Starside’s Project Managers and First Line Supervisors are responsible to ensure that all CSO’s are professional and courteous at all time and have excellent uniform appearance.  Project Manager also tracks Texas Non Commissioned Guard Card (Level II) and prepares and submits Timesheet, Schedule and staffing plans to Starside’s Corporate Office.

Ideal Candidate

  • 5 to 10 years of Security Guard Management supervising a minimum of 10 security officers.
  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation

• California Guard Card
• California Exposed Firearms Permit, (40 Caliber primary service weapon or 9mm)
• Previous Government Service a plus
• Willing to work Part Time / Flex as needed
• Minimum 3 years handling Prisoners / Detainees within the previous 5 years
• Special Operations / Military a plus (verified by DD214)

Detention Officer Supervisor, San Diego, CA

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Starside’s Detention Officers Supervisors schedule and perform unannounced post visits, supervise attorney visits and the transport of detainees and inmates from various facilities making sure Starside’s Detention Officers are protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm.

Transportation Officer (San Diego)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for Transportation Officers for Starside’s Detention Accounts in San Diego.  Starside transports detainees for various governmental agencies throughout San Diego and Imperial counties.   Transportation Officers are responsible for the transportation and hospital watch of federal detainees.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical
  • California Guard Card
  • California Exposed Firearms Permit, (40 Caliber)
  • 3 years of Law Enforcement, Corrections or Detention (within the previous 5 years)

Jailer, Southern CA

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for California Licensed Security Guards to work as Jailers at multiple local Jails.  Jailers are assigned to a Local Jails in Los Angeles County.  Starside also has position in Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.  Starside’s Jailers work at various Local, City Jails. Starside’s Jailers help local police departments by booking, securing and transporting inmates.  Jailer are protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm.

Ideal Candidate

  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical
  • California Guard Card

Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for an Administrative Assistant to handle Payroll, Hiring Paperwork, Processing of Clearances for the Divisions Jails, Transportation Officers and Detention Officers throughout Southern California.  This position is based at Starside’s Corporate Offices in Diamond Bar (Eastern Los Angeles County)
